Christmas with the Duck Avenger!

Rapid updates to make up for the long absence. Don't forget to scroll down (or click here!) to see the classic stories that Blotling and Yoshi have translated, if you didn't see them yesterday!

Ah, 'tis the season. Banker returns with with some new, beautiful re-edited versions PKNA #13 and #14. Those were the only issues of PKNA that nobody on this site ever touched, because they'd already been done over at an older site, years ago. There were some discrepancies, though. The Avenger is just called Paperinik, and the font has never looked quite right to me. So I think it's awesome to have a remake made.

So here, ladies and gentlemen, just in time for Christmas, is the new, Banker-ized version of the classic Christmas story:

And hey, the other one's topical too. At least it was yesterday when Banker first uploaded it, according to half the people I know on Facebook: It's about the end of the world.

PKNA#14 - Carpe Diem

Finally, there's good news for PiKappa fans from CERTAIN parts of the world at least: Comixology.com has apparently started to feature Superduck comics at least in Greece. For the Greek, you can check out this link: http://www.comixology.com/Superduck/comics-series/9744

That link probably won't work for anyone else (it doesn't in Denmark at least), but you can always give it a try (or try searching for 'Superduck' on Comixology) and let us know whether there's anything to be found. It's always interesting to try to figure out if there are other countries where it's available.

Merry Christmas!

  1. I have been following this site's progress for a long time now. (Since "#11 - Urk" I think...)

I remember when Disney put out a Cease and desist on you, and stopped the translation. For a while.

During that time I searched for translation of the remaining issues and managed to come across the old site that had translated #13 & 14, and so, I thought to share my discovery here at the comment section. And not to long after, the translation project were up and running again.

I don't know if you already had things in motion, or if I even had gotten the ball rolling again, even with the smallest push, but you guys managed to complete your task, and I got to read the entirety of the series that I experienced through my first comic book(# 9 - Fountains of the Moon). And I am extremely thankful for it.

Merry Christmas! And a happy new year!

    2. Or, up to the same amount of issues they did for the ios app.

      I'll be cynical here.

Then again, it doesn't matter to me, as I can't get them anyways. Funny really, I want to throw money at Disney for this, but I'm not allowed to!

  4. So when are you going to start translating PK Pikappa? I believe it makes the series complete, and a lot of fans would love to read those stories!

    1. y'know, anonymous, there's a saying in mine and banker's country: if you've said A, you must also say B. only, you're not asking him to say B, you're asking for the entire freaking Alphabet. it'll be great if he did, but he has a lot going on right now, with the motion comic and all

  6. Oh, by for those who don't read the forum I might as well say that PKNA is coming back.

And I'm not talking about reprints.

    You may freak out now.

  7. While I'd be totally hyped if it came here, it sounds like something Banker migth deem unworthy again and thus end up unreadable for me again :(. Ehapa: If you release this series, I will definitely pay a high price for each issue! I'd also be OK with just an English translation for a lot of countries.

  8. I just wonder if anyone is currently working on MMMM translation? Because it seems that every translator disappears after saying something like 'I'll do next issue soon'. I need to know if I should keep my hope or just kill it. (:

  9. nice, now that someone broke the silence, has anyone seen or got the mobile phone game of the Duck Avenger? I'd love to hear what the storyline behind it is.

  10. It HAD gotten awfully quiet in here.

But hey, Blotling and others, does anybody have any details on what may or may not be happening with the Avenger in the near future? My lack has prevented me from doing much research on my own, so can anybody flesh out my understanding?

I considered making a proper post sharing the news with the world, but I honestly wouldn't know what to write or what to link to. Any information is very much appreciated.

  11. In the next LTB Premium, issue 4, Germans get a chance to get some more Duck Avenger content. Issues five to eight will be featured in this issue, also there will be all-new German translations of two more Konrad Kiwi episodes and the PKNA Special 1997. More information here:
    http://www.comicforum.de/showthread.php?134290-Lustiges-Taschenbuch-Premium-Band-4

So, please, all German Duck Avenger fans, support this new Duck Avenger issue! There's a lot of preiously translated content, but with Special 1997 and the next two Konrad Kiwi episodes this issue also offers enough new content to easily justify the 10€ pricetag for a DA-fan!

    1. Many, many thanks for the Heads-Up, the thing is already in my (mental) shopping basket. Although the paper from the previous issue felt kinda weird.
