And once again Banker returns with spoils of war. Or translating. Whichever. And once more it is not only a re-edited issue, but also a bonus story from the "PK3" series which Disney never translated.
I've added the links to the download section - and sure, I'll add them here as well - but I'm still gonna remind you that Banker has uploaded the same links on his own site, so if you wanna be sure to get timely updates, you should probably bookmark that too.
Pikappa Bonus Story: First date
PKNA #18 - Ancient Future (re-edited version)
Enjoy!

ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteI'm translating these comics to Finnish, and I love to photoshop the original covers to look like Finnish ones. Does anyone have the original PKNA-covers, only the images. I mean the cover photos without PK-logo, or that PK-headhalf on the top left of the front cover.
Thank you very much!
Alas, not all of them are available like that, and the ones that are are in low quality.

You guys are amazing. Do you think you'll translate the remaining issues of MM Mystery Magazine? Because that would be awesome.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'd love to see the rest of them in English, but since these series weren't translated to any foreign language chances are darn low. However someone somewhere sometime wrote "After issue #11, we'll focus on some OTHER great Disney comics that are in need of a translation. First up will be Mickey Mouse Mystery Magazine"... :P So let's not loose hope!
ReplyDeleteWhile I'd certainly love to read the rest of the MMMM comics, the guys who made those translations haven't really made a sound for a long while. So unless a new translator steps into the ring, it's not likely we'll see them translated any time soon.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm afraid that's me you're quoting, Jutro, but that was a loooooong time ago. Then again, hey, you never know. :P
MMMM is also for consideration in the German LTB Premium series, so Germans could possibly step in. However, first we get an issue of Darkwing Duck in October, one more PKNA at the beginning of the next year and another issue of Mickey X later in 2014. I'd guess, the next one would be PKNA again and then MMMM could follow (if they keep up that each even issue is about PKNA, each odd issue is something different).
ReplyDeleteThey're doing Darkwing? Cool, the first arc (The Duck Avenger Returns) is really good! Granted, it's sadly all downhill from there... 2nd arc is pretty nice, but the ending is quite rushed, 3rd has it's moments but wraps up really bad, 4th is actually pretty decent, but at the same time a really odd story at times. And as I've said before, the last arc, the crossover arc (Dangerous Currency) is the worst pile of steaming shit I've ever laid my eyes on in comics. Seriously. And somehow quite a lot of people view it as awesome. I'm not the one to disrespect other people's opinions just like that, but regarding this? It just baffles my mind...
DeleteThe first arc is actually called something with Duck Avenger? They shoudl translate this to "Phantomias" in the German version :D.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I messed up on the name totally there I see. The name for the first arc is of course "The Duck Knight Returns" and nothing else. Guess you could say that's an easy mistake to do considering where we're discussing after all ;)
DeleteAs for MMMM, I've came across this Portuguese translation:

There are only first two issues available for now, but they've appeared quite recently, so there is a chance for the next. Not that I understand a word, but perhaps there is a kind soul out there that will translate further issues to English if they appear on that site as well... :P
New translations.

The link for "Absolute Zero" is one that will have to be replaced.
