Monthly run-down: May

So hey - who wants a brand new PK New Era story, translated by Banker and Meripihka?

This time you can read it two ways: All of it uploaded to Imgur, or you can download the whole thing. Honestly, I think Banker spoils us.

Read it online:
Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Download it:
The Banks of Time

These are good times to be a PK fan, people.

  1. Hi there!
Just in case you were wondering if there are still any readers around here... well, I am and I'm patiently waiting for a new update ;) Please don't tell me that you are going to quit here... or did you guys just move on to another place? (if so, please tell me, I want to go there as well... don't leave me alone here...)

Anyway, there was a new PK story announced, I think it would be worth an update here. The Pikappa New Era page on Facebook posted this earlier today: https://www.facebook.com/PikappaNewEra/photos/a.558493297627157.1073741827.558489790960841/612414785568341/
Time for a little trip to Italy, perhaps...

    Ok, so long, bye :)

  3. Hello, just wondering, i'm gonna try and start translating the rest of the mickey mouse MM onto english, and I'm gonna use my own blog, and maybe afterwards a webpage, the results shouldn't be very professional looking at first but I plan on getting better, I'm just gonna use some adf.ly links just to try to keep up with the site costs, would you guys be interested in that?

  4. Also if that project picks up and is successful I'm thinking of starting a translation project of topolino, or maybe some other italian series, worth translating, any ideas are welcome, my blog is currently under construction as is my website I'm planning on releasing

    1. Personally I am more than interested. I came to this blog years ago searching for PKNA and instantly fell in love with MMMM. Original plan was to translate MMMM after first 15 PKNA issues or so, but it never happened... But hey, love is patient. :D

  5. Considering MMMM is releasing in Germany right now - the first half has already been released in LTB Premium, the second half will probably follow 2016 or 2017, I personally am not too interested in this, but it would still be great to have some more activity here. Also, we still did not get all of Pk - Pikappa yet, so this would certainly be worthy of translation. Especially since, when this is done, we'd have all of PKNA translated :).

  6. I second that - more activity here as well as the missing Pikappa issues ;)

Regarding MMMM, it wouldn't be bad to have another translation. I am not happy at all with the new german translation of PKNA in the LTB Premium... (Comparing the different german releases, the swedish and the english ones, the new german tranlations are the worst - but better than no rerelease at all :) I buy them anyway)
So in short, do it, better translations are always welcome!

  7. I've already started the translation and I'm 1/3 of the issue done. It's a pain in the ass,but I'm mostly happy with my work as I try to achieve the best result possible.I plan on releasing it within the week depending how much time I'll have, but anyways as soon as I finish this series I'm open to suggestions on new series, I'm gonna be posting here as soon as I'll finish my first translation

  8. I'll certainly take a look at PK - Pikappa also after I finish this series too

  10. Regarding the German translation of PKNA: On October 23rd, there will be a new issue of LTB Premium launching which again features PKNA. It will also mark the final issue where any previously translated issues are included. It will most likely contain issues (German counting) 14-18 (12-16 in the Italian numbering), where only 14 has been released previously.

Thus, starting from October, all content from PKNA that ever has been released in German with exception of the goodbye 313 story will have been released in LTB Premium.

    1. Oh, that's good to know :) Can't wait to see if they are actually publishing The Darkest Night or if they just leave it out like they intended to do in the second German release or like they did in Sweden. But since it then was replaced by Missing and we already got that in the LTB Premium (even if it's not in the proper order... WTF did they even think there...) the chances are good!

  11. They intended to leave it out in the second German release? Why that?

    1. I have no idea why... I just remember that the next title after Second Draft was announced to be Missing. Which never came to the stores and neither anything else... I would really like to know how the people at Ehapa are deciding things. I hope they understand from the sold out Premium books that they should not stop this time... :D

  12. We now know what the content of the next LTB Premium is, it's the next six issues starting from Second Draft, so indeed, Missing is not missing.

  13. I bought it today! Six issues in one thick book, and five of them never released before in Germany... This is great :D As much as I want to be at Romics right now and get my own drawing by Claudio Sciarrone and buy the special edition of Gli Argini Del Tempo - I'm also quite happy to FINALLY have really new german stories and I hope so very much that the translation won't make me facepalm the whole time... :D

    1. anything worth noting in the translation?

    2. Mostly it's the tendency to put in very silly word plays everywhere. Probably they want to make it funny but unfortunately it isn't... or in other words, they try to make it funny in a way which doesn't fit the PKNA style at all in my opinion. The worst thing I've seen so far was in "Earthquake", in the part at the Department of Environment when the phosphor is burning. In the new german version the Duck Avenger shouts: "I'm a hero, get me out of here!" as a reference to that reality tv show... Glad that you asked, I really needed to talk about that with someone.
Then they use names inconsistently, put text in the wrong bubbles... things that should not happen.

But nevertheless, the most important thing is that PK is back in Germany! And the new book format makes it easier to take a couple of stories with you when travelling, so that's actually an advantage :)

  15. A new collection of five PKNA issues (and some short stores) was release in Germany, up until now untranslated (t German) stories :). It's issues 20-25 using the Italian ordering and it's contained in LTB Premium number 11. So, everyone from Germany, go get it :).

  16. I know this place is kinda dead, too, but... Anyone know what happened to the forum and Bankin' the Duck?

    1. Wait... Banker's blog has been removed? In the very moment when a new PKNE story is being published? Now this is really really sad... I don't know anything about why and what happened, maybe he was caught by Disney, maybe he just didn't want to continue, who knows... Maybe I'll try to ask Claudio Sciarrone if he has heard anything, he is the only person I know of who knows him (or at least has had personal contact with him)

And then I also heard today that IDW will put the Duck Avenger on hold because of paper prices. As happy as I am about the new story at Topolino, these are bad news for all English speaking Duck Avenger fans :/

    2. It doesn't say "removed", just "shut down, with no link available to a new location", so I'm thinking voluntary.

Either because he got bored, stopped paying the bills, or got forced to shut down, I don't know, but this wasn't a DMCA takedown, or some such.

The Forums have disappeared completely, & the link is directing you to a "this page doesn't exist" page, while also mentioning that "the administrator may have deleted it."

      Good thinking with Sciarrone.

P.S. Duck Avenger #5 (Day of the Cold Sun) is slated for June, so you mean after that?

That's interesting, as I recently found out IDW started releasing their Disney line-up digitally, as well. Yes, you read right; Duck Avenger (IDW Edition) is available digitally :D

    3. Addendum: Shit, yeah, someone just confirmed it for me.

Fuckbeats. Though, he did specify that it's "for now", meaning it'll probably be open to a continuation at some point - hopefully..... :S

    4. I checked the Duck Avenger Forum and it's still there, did you mean some other forum? (Not that anyone was still writing there anyway...)

    5. The forum was down for a while, but it seems to be back up now...
