PKNA #47 - Before Dawn

Man, I can barely even keep up with Banker anymore. I'm loving it.

(In case you missed it, scroll down for issues #45 and #46.)

    1. Wonderful as usual!

Must say that this issue didn't really pan out the way I expected it to do, mostly since the problems with time travel that arose in #43 seems to have been quietly resolved, which was a bit of a disappointment to be honest. Still, a decent enough issue.

And now on to the finale!

    2. Well, if time travel started working again, all the shit in #43 would never really have happened.

And the problem could have been resolved in any timeline, and I'd take it everything would be like normal once Donald returned home... cause y'know, time travel.

      If that makes sense.

    3. Yeah, I guess it makes sense.

Still feels like a slight cop-out, but most likely because of my expectations. Still a nice story.

  2. Yay, only one more issue to go! Thank you Banker :).

  3. ... oh man.

So there's this part in the final issue where Donald gets a new supername.

    "The Avenger".

    ...

    ...

... totally should have gone for Phantom Duck.

    1. Oh man, I remember reading that issue and thinking "... Well, fuck."

Personally I'd go for some sort of synonym or near-synonym. Though it's hard to find one that fits.

Hmmm... You COULD change the meaning a bit and simply have him known as "Vengeance". That would have the same meaning while also sounding a bit more like a supervillain.

I honestly can't tell if that sounds stupid or kinda cool, though. I'll trust your judgement on this on, Banker.

    2. ... aha! I got it!

      The Retaliator!

      Paying back evil for evil...

  4. Then just make Phantom Duck the new supername ;)? Or does the choice of the name play a role in the story?

    1. Oh, it totally does. The name couldn't have more relevance.

Guess I can always go with something similar...

  5. Thanks so much for all these issues! It brings back memories; I still have a stack of Duck Avenger issues stored somewhere. But... How can this be the end? If memory serves there's supposed to be more, after which it turns completely Italian and is no longer published in my nation.

    SPOILERS

One being deleted, Duck Avenger fighting on his own, etc.

    /SPOILERS

Are these completely unrelated events to this series, aka. another series entirely, or are there actually issues you didn't know about? Forgive my confusion, and I hope you didn't take offense from it.

    1. There's a followup series called PK2 consisting of 19 issues. Only read one of them, and it was really good.

And then there was the reboot series Pikappa, 32 issues, which actually has an official English translation, but it's only available as digital download in the US and UK.

  6. I don't understand why Disney doesn't let me buy the US or UK comics of Pikappa, obviously they don't want to release them here, so what's to lose if I buy the English comics :/?

    1. Because "professional " translation and editing are EXPENSIVE .
Also, Disney don't like to show their less "family friendly " stories, outside Italy (Disney Italy has a vast degree of independency as far as comics production goes )
