Let Disney know that you want to see an official translation of Paperinik New Adventures – here’s how!

Disney has already shown an interest in the characters – Superduck comics are now available in the US and the UK through Disney Digicomics! A growing archive of never-before-translated comics are now available. Here’s a brief explanation.

  1. I absolutely love your work; I managed to catch a few issues back in '97-98 (Donald's big here in Scandinavia, so PKNA got a translation there), but after the family moved getting a hold of every issue became all but impossible. I had actually forgotten about the comic until I saw your ad on another site. Perhaps it's the maturity of the work, but it holds up better than just about any other Disney work I read as a kid or young teenager, so finding this treasure trove of a site was pretty awesome. In short, I freaking love what you guys are doing.

That having been said, one thing I miss is those single/half-pages with information on important characters, vehicles, spaceships, equipment, and so forth. All in all it really helped fill out PKNA's universe and make it more immersive, and in the end you'd take Evronian gadgets and spaceships somewhat seriously even if they had a giant duckbill arbitrarily attached to them.

Up until now they've been mostly absent from your releases, so I'm guessing that you haven't decided to translate these bonus pages, but is there any chance you will change your mind?

  2. We've actually been discussing the possibility of translating the bonus content as well, lately.

If we can find the time, there's definitely a good chance that you'll be seeing some of the bonus pages in English before too long.

  3. Yeah. I'd like that too. I don't have all the issues of 96 but I could help out with the translation of those bonus pages if needed. Although I suppose the hardest part is the actual editing, not the translating. :)

  4. Actually, I wouldn't mind doing the editing if someone else did the translating.

However, I think there was a lot of bonus content which was included in the Italian comics, but was then cut from the Scandinavian issues. So it might be better if the translator spoke Italian, so that we wouldn't miss out on half the good stuff.

  5. I didn't know that. What I got in Sweden was fan mail sections, character presentations and those spinoff comics about Angus Fangus, the evronians and the Raider.

  6. I have all the issue in Italian and I speak English well enough.

Willing to help you in any way.

  8. I've collected almost the entire series in swedish and I'm willing to help. Just send me a mail at rickard_the_apple@hotmail.com

    Just a question...

I've bought a copy of "The Passage of Time" (Issue #28, I believe), only to find out there is a massive printing problem. Found another issue and the same problem was in there, leading me to believe all the swedish prints of it is like that.

Is this the case in the italian one as well?

  9. Oh, that question about the italian one is aimed at ankokudaishogun.

Men seriöst, jag hjälper gärna till.

  10. What was the problem with the printing? Now you've got me curious.

Oh, and I'm guessing that the issue you're referring to is the one that was numbered #26 in Italy, 'Il tempo fugge': http://coa.inducks.org/issue.php?c=it/PKNA+26 - Am I right?

  11. Hey, Lord Birch. I'm still curious what Sweden missed out on :). Also, forgot to add my mail address. jal2001hotmailcom. (Also works on MSN by the way.)

  12. Wow, I've seen the modern part of this series a couple times in french, but it's origin is GLORIOUS!! All the idiots who think Donald Duck is only about comedy and is for children can stick their prejudices in their *** xD
Wishing you guys good luck on the translation, can't wait to have more, but I think I'll have to anyways :)

  13. Yes, it seems to be #26.

Page 3(first readable page) to 10 repeat, then we get page 19-58 right, then it jumps to 67-74, which repeats just like the first ones.

So not only do we miss some early plot elements- the entire resolution isn't even in it!
