  2. Hey, I'm from Germany and over here, the first 15 issues (counting the 0/ issues as number 1-3) were released, but then the series was stopped due to bad sales-numbers. As I don't speak Italian, I'm super-happy you are translating the comics here. How are the chances of you translating the issues that came after the fifteenth (Called something like "Androids insurrection" in Germany) issue? If you plan on translating them, too, when do you plan on releasing them?

  3. Weeell, we're currently going by a rate of one full issue uploaded every month, and we'll probably be sticking with that for a while. So no matter what, it'll probably be a good while before we get past the point you reached in Germany.

There's also the issue of whether Disney will decide to do an official translation at some point. After all, they've been showing some interest in the character of The Duck Avenger/Superduck lately. So we're moving forward with caution.

Anyways, there'll be a big announcement up along with Monday's update, which will explain what our plan of action is going to be from now on. So stay tuned.

  5. This site has scans of every issue of the first series: http://pkhack.altervista.org/pktube/index.htm

You have to sign up before you can see the scans, but it's free and completely safe, as far as I know.

I'm confused though - I thought the first 14 issues had actually already been published in Germany, as a series called Phantomias?

  12. As stated above, thanks you.

I'm from Kuwait, the series stopped after the third issue, I still remember how I opened a letter rejecting my desire to subscribe in the series due to their decision for suspend the series.

    Many thanks.

  13. I just read PKNA 3 - Xadhoom on here. Words cant describe how grateful I am. I became a PKNA fan in 1998 and was so until it ended. Ive always loved Xadhoom and Under a new Sun is my fave PKNA album. But it always bugged me that I never got her entry into the saga. Thx thx thx, Ive been waiting to read the 'Xadhoom' one since 1998 - thats TWELVE YEARS of waiting, so you can understand how grateful I am :D

  14. MANY THANKS for starting this project up! I had almost lost hope that I would get to read the complete series in English :) .

  15. Wow, thank you so much. Please continue this series, it would be so awesome if you finished it.

I used to read this as a child in Germany until it was canceled.

  16. I am translating PKNA issues into Finnish. Two first issues were published in finland, then we jumped to issue 35. Onle 14 issues were published. Here you can read the translations: http://taikaviittakaksituhatta.blogspot.com/

  17. I used to collect this series when it came out in Norway (where, by the way, our hero was called Fantonald, a play on Fantomet (the Phantom) and Donald), but missed the origin issue. Now that hole has finally been filled. Thank you!

  18. Sorry for being late and maybe bringing unuseful suggestion.
I would've translated PKNA#5 as "Portrait of the Hero as a Young Duck". In my opinion it fits the Joyce source best.

Great work you're all doing by the way, I've always dreamt of showing PK to foreign friends!

  19. Thanks for the compliment, anon.

And I'll admit that we took some liberty with the title of that particular issue. However, "Portrait of the Hero as a Young Duck" just seemed a bit too long to work properly as a catchy title for a comic - let alone a TV show. :P

    ReplyDelete
  20. And also the literal translation of "Ritratto dell'eroe da giovane" is "Portait of the young hero". The "young duck" part is just added...

    ReplyDelete
  21. Huh. And here I thought we were taking liberties.

I guess that's what I get for never learning Italian properly and for trusting Wikipedia. :P

Good thing I surround myself with people who know what they're doing.

  22. Could you upload bonus contents of issues 0-5 before uploading issue 9? I want to translate them to my blog, and it's easier to translate from english than from "Italiano"?

    ReplyDelete
  23. If you will ever finish PKNA, Will you translate PK2?

    ReplyDelete
  24. First question: We are working on the bonus content for issues that we've missed, and I'm hoping to have one or two issues' worth ready before we get to issue #9. But we probably won't do them ALL before issue #9.

Second question: If we ever get that far, and if I have anything to say about it at that point, then HELL yes. PK2 includes some of my favorite issues of all time, so I definitely think they're an essential part of the PK experience.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Is PK2 issue 13 "Tutto e Niente" one of your favourites?

    ReplyDelete
  26. "Tutto e Niente" and "L'ultima Caccia" from Pk2 are two of the greatest issues of PK of all times!

    ReplyDelete
  27. You guys rock! That's a big part of my younger days right there - unfortunately they stopped translating it to German at some point and I'm super hyped to catch up again. Thanks a ton! =)

  28. In this blog, I've seen a link to another website that is translating PKNA to english. Can you tell me the URL adress? I'm not pretty sure that was this the site where I've found the link, but I remember so.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I did indeed link to another translation project: http://immaginario.net/pikappa/index/traduzioni/

The site hasn't been updated for a long, long time, but it features two issues that we haven't translated ourselves.

  30. Do you have any idea that where coulg I get english translations of PK PiKappa? I've planned to translate them with my friend, too, because translating PK PiKappa is part of our translation plan.

If there are no website that translates them, I have no choice but to start studying Italian.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Well, there's Disney Digital comics, where a lot of issues of PK PiKappa have been published, but they're only available in America and Britain.

Unfortunately, I don't know of any site that translates those issues. Sorry I can't help you there. :/

  32. Is there a relatistic chance of M.M.M.M coming up in the near future?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yep, I think so. We're already working on the translation of the first issue.

  34. thank you so much, for translating this great comics!! i was crying when they stoped printing this masterpieces of superduck in germany. why the people didnt understand it, like in italy where they get month per month their new comics with superduck - but now all the fanatic fans of superduck have you, lord birch - you are really a LORD for spending so much time on this project for us! God bless you!! thanks again, and please continue your mission and bring all of the great comics to the hungry readers.

  35. it is really great, that you wana translate the first 15 adventures of the duck avenger - will it finish with part 15? Do you have the rest of the comics, if you have them, will you translate them also on your great site? What about pk2 and pk-pikappa? Will you translate them also? I just can see the great covers of them on different websites and think "Oh my god, how interesting must be the story!" - thank you for what you doing for so many readers, for whitch you are the only hope, Lord Birch, that they can finally read whats happening with the evronians, angus fangus, one, and, of course, the duck avenger!
