that was the last issue in your country? that's cruel! I was really sad that PK was dropped in Germany, but at PKNA 12 they could have ended the series without it seeming too strange. Ending midway through PK² is really mean. We can really be happy that we have our Banker.
When he's done with PK² (Pikappa is out of question, right?) we'll have to collaboratively write new PK issues in Italian so that he can provide us with more awesome translations :D.
Pikappa it totally out of the question because it already has an English translation, even though almost nobody will ever be able to read it, and because... I don't fucking care when it's a reboot.
He, sure, maybe we could all create our own PK3. I got some ideas for some stories...
Actually, I too did plan to gauge interest in doing a sort of collaborative PK3 somewhere down the line. Definitely got some ideas (whether they're good or bad, I dunno), so I'm game.
That and a fuckton of other ideas for other things, like translating more never-before-translated-to-English major Italian Disney comics, depending on interest (got well more than a year of work in front of me from what I have planned). Any interest in that?
PKNA fanfiction, eh? Could be fun. I can't write in Italian, but English is fine. And if it's ideas, I'll never run out of them, I usually get one or two new story ideas every month. Drawing, however... don't count on me.
Well, MMMM is after all as you know only published in Italian and Greek from #2 so that's a problem (get the hint you who could do it!) and X-Mickey publication seems pretty random outside of Italy so that too would be a problem.
My plans mostly was about a bit older material, but I'm necessarily not against more modern stories. For me, I'd still need a Swedish translation to be able to work on it (I guess I could work with a Norwegian or Danish one too) and after that I haven't made a reputation for being a rapid translator, now have I? ;)
Like I said, don't look at me. I need Swedish translations myself. Okay, so I managed to do well without one for help when working on "The End of the World"...
Oh, you still read it. Well, I actually deleted the comment after seeing the Guardians. I really don't think I could ever create something like that...
Fanfiction isn't limited to the original medium, you know. Even if the original is a coloured comic, we could, for example, do something akin to the Japanese light novels, which are essentially short (usually 200-300 pages) novels aimed at teens and young adults, with about a dozen of illustrations per volume.
Special, pretty meh to me for the most part I guess, not as bad as some other specials, especially with some fine highlight like Sciarrone doing some more lovely Lyla (issue also kinda higlighted how differently different artists can take on dirrferent characters rendering them with a completely different feel) and establishing my ever-growing love for Ziche's unique art style (a most fitting story for her art, especially taking PKNA#15 into account). And, of course, prostitution jokes in my Disney comics!? I'm both amazed and a bit shocked at the same time, and I think that's a good thing!
#8 was certainly yet a unique concept for anything Disney regarding the relationship between Stella and Lucas. And I too am happy to see the messy love triangle come to an end. Pretty solid story.
#9 was solid too and I'm really happy to see the Ducklair story do some real good progress. And Tempest doesn't look like Minnie here, which is always a relief! ;)
Ok, so lets make it clear - is someone going to translate MMMM or will I have to take care of it with my crappy English and total lack of knowledge of Italian?
Um, yeah, figured I too better post some appreciation post as to not make Banker feel unmotivated. We'd not want that to happen, now would we? ;)
Anyways, I don't think there's one single panel of Tempest where she doesn't have that smile on her face. Doesn't really suit her actually, imo. Otherwise, decent enough.
Another thought I've had for a while, Everett must know what Lyla is, right? At least since he really shouldn't be able to read her mind. And also taking PKNA 49/50 into account. So why'd he hire her in the first place I'd wonder... Just makes me curious, s'all
Really great comic once again and awsome job Banker! Only seven issues to go and it's really intense right now, thank you for giving us an opportunity to read this great comic book series :).
Well, in that case... Screw you, I'm gonna stop making translations! Ha ha ha!

DeleteNot bad, not bad at all... And who cares about colours? I read manga all the time, and it doesn't bother me at all that they're B&W. ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌

Tempest's awfully taller, though.
DeleteAnd ah yes, Ziche! Love her art on the Trip's Strip bonus stories. I'll try to see to getting those done when I'm finished with PK2.
DeleteBah, details! :P
DeleteAnyways, we're discussing what's going on in PK2 over at the blog! Anyone want to use their accounts for once and join in? Anyone? Step right up!

Tempest's smile was more permanent than that of the Joker. Scaringly so...
DeleteWhatever, she's still awesome.
As for Lyla... Well, she's apparently super important for his plans... Then again, so is apparently Angulicious, but he rejected him.
Meh, he's got something brewing, I'm sure there's a purpose to everything...
Should be done with #11 in a couple of hours.
Amazing! Looking forward to the next issues! '
ReplyDeleteBanker, amazing work!
And finally we get some answers regarding the Ducklairs.

ReplyDeleteSuch a sad story, great work Banker! Can't wait for the next issue =D
ReplyDeleteOn a side note does anyone know any thing about this series of Duck Avenger comics or if it's been translated into English?

Only some stories have been translated. Have you tried looking at Inducks?
Deletehttp://coa.inducks.org/publication.php?c=it/PK
I think that the only story of the series published in US is this one: https://coa.inducks.org/story.php?c=I+PK+++88-1
